Using Prepositions Correctly in Sentences
33.1 Introduction
Prepositions are small words, but they are very important in English. They show the relationship between a noun or pronoun and another word in a sentence.
Common prepositions include in, on, at, under, over, between, among, behind, beside, near.
33.2 Common Prepositions and Their Use
- In – inside something (in a room)
- On – on a surface (on the table)
- At – specific place or time (at school)
- Under – below something
- Between – in the middle of two things
