कविता एक आलसी मेंढक के बारे में है जो पूरे दिन लकड़ी के ठूँठ पर पसरकर पड़ा रहता है। वह किसी भी काम से कतराता है—यहाँ तक कि माँ की पुकार भी अनसुनी कर देता है। उसके तौर-तरीके भी अच्छे नहीं—कोई लेडी फ्रॉग भी आए तो उठकर अभिवादन नहीं करता। कवि हास्य के साथ बताता है कि आलस और असभ्यता खराब आदतें हैं; समय की कदर, बड़ों का सम्मान और छोटे-छोटे कामों में मदद करना जरूरी है।
